“The Hidden Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben

This book really opened my eyes to all of the mechanisms and networks involved in tree growth and longevity. I loved learning the plethora of simple tips and tricks, as well as the spiritual importance of slowing down and learning to live like a tree in a sense. I always love a book that promotes environmentalism, but challenges the popular views with evidence. I did feel as though the last chapter was ranting a bit too much about how ignorant the every day population is and it seemed sort of pretentious. I think providing all the info and personifying trees made it way more relatable to the general public but bashing environmentalists/naturalists maybe wasn’t the best move.

That being said, I still rated it over 4 stars just because of the sheer amount of data and empirical evidence surrounding trees.
