I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! This book is like Marie Kondo on overdrive. Two friends make a pact to minimize their lives and it goes really well. I thought the tidbits of commentary back and forth was lovely to make such a huge theme a little more personal and relatable. Joshua and Ryan explain the emotions behind belongings and the freedom gained from letting go.
This isn’t just a self help manual for cleaning your home, but really a story of one man’s healing process and the epiphanies he gains along the way. The author explains that his advice may or may not be helpful to everyone. He just offers an opportunity to take what he has learned from his minimalist lifestyle, and implement as much or as little as you want into yours. The story doesn’t read like a textbook guide or a frilly influencer-style step-by-step program. I picture it as more of a casual conversation between friends about loss, mental health, and finding your way again.
I highly recommend this to anyone who feels as if their life is starting to slip out of their control, they have too much to handle, or they’re experiencing big life changes and just want to read something relatable. This will definitely give you the motivation to take charge of your own path.
