“The Serviceberry” by Robin Wall Kimmerer

Author of “Gathering Moss” and “Braiding Sweetgrass”, Kimmerer calls to action again on this short novel highlighting the importance of human-to-human and human-to-nature connection in a very technology-dependent and wasteful world. Although it is a stand alone novel, all of her stories blend together beautifully. Be on the lookout for future reviews for her other works, as they’re currently being read, or sitting on my bookshelf to be devoured soon.

This short and sweet novel is very easy to read and applies to all walks of life. It’s great for those just starting to dip their toes into the world of conservation and ecology.

Most of all this story provides hope. Hope for reconnection, hope for gratefulness, hope for inspiration. It is worth all five stars.
