“The Girl On The Train” by Paula Hawkins

I finished this book so fast! This psychological thriller had cliffhangers every chapter.

The story follows Rachel, a recently single woman on her daily commute to work. Her mind is allowed to wander, though she can’t quite reach some of the memories from her past. Rachel is deceived and gaslit left and right throughout her life, but eventually finds courage and recollection of atrocities done unto her in the end. Warning: this book does depict some violence, physical abuse, and alcoholism.

This is a perfect weekend read (especially during spooky season) with the themes of “people aren’t always as they seem” and “projecting desires onto others”.

Don’t forget to check out the movie adaptation after you finish reading!
